Job description: Mosaic Sales Solutions Canada is a sales and field marketing solutions agency that utilizes our considerable expertise, proven best practices and leading-edge technology to execute brand relevant selling, merchandising and event marketing programs across all retail channels and business-to-business.

We are currently recruiting for a permanent part time Merchandising Representative for Mattel to work in Ottawa and surrounding area. This position offers an average of 20-29 hours per week.This is a tactical merchandising position that may lead to a permanent position.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
To represent Mattel Canada Inc. in a manner that reinforces a professional image by delivering excellent customer service while maximizing product distribution by impacting the availability and visibility of Mattel products

General Job Summary
To maintain & manage consistent and efficient call coverage to the selected mass merchandising stores within the assigned territory
To develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with the appropriate store decision makers
General merchandising to improve and maintain in-store presence
To communicate store needs, merchandising opportunities & market information
SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Territory Management
• To conduct regular (monthly / bi-monthly) visits to selected mass merchandising stores within an assigned geographic territory
• To maintain and manage consistent and efficient call coverage to the selected target list of mass merchandising stores within the assigned geographic territory.
• To develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with the appropriate store decision maker(s).
• To respond to customer service issues during and between planned visits ensuring timely follow-up on store / client / field supervisor requests.
• To provide personal / store feedback and recommendations on the Mattel program and in-field activity.
2. Field Calls:
• To improve and maintain in-store presence via assertive shelf management, effective use of a Planogram, placement of POP materials, and compliance of promotional programs.
• To communicate upcoming brand promotions and market / product information.
• To negotiate incremental display locations.
• To seek opportunity to make "impact" for Mattel at store level in keeping with the Mattel Key What Counts Factors.

• To provide photographs of in-store accomplishments.
• To impact store orders by placing an order through the store system or by leaving a detailed order list for the store decision maker.
• To communicate store needs, merchandising opportunities and market / product information to your field supervisor on an on-going basis.
• Use of the 7 step call procedure to maximize use of time in call
3. Administration
• To check voicemail/e-mail/Livewire Forum daily with quick response & follow-up to requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all weekly administration documents.
• Time and Expense Report
• Call Report
• Photo submission
• Livewire Website input (weekly comments in Forums folder)

PERFORMANCE SKILLS:

• Effective interaction and verbal communication & presentation skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in a service oriented manner while building rapport and credibility.
• Effective organization and planning skills; ability to organize and schedule calls; develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
• Ability to demonstrate thorough follow-through
• Effective energizing skills; to create positive energy in others and demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and commitment
OTHER RELATED SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS
• Valid driver's license and use of a suitable vehicle during business hours
• Email / internet access
• Flexible working hours
• Attendance at annual National Training Meeting held at Mattel's office in Mississauga, ON
